If you get in shape before getting pregnant, you’ll have lower weight gains during pregnancy. Studies have shown that women who were physically active before getting pregnant, gained less weight than women who were not.

Establishing good health and fitness habits before pregnancy, allows your body to “bank” some muscle memory and to develop a healthy nutritional history, making it easy for yourself to bounce back in no time.

Forming healthy habits before you even start having kids will make it a lot easier to stick to once you become pregnant and can help you to remain fit for the rest of your life. It will be much harder to learn new fitness habits after having kids than before having kids. You’ll also be setting a good example for your children as they grow into adulthood. Any exercise routine you develop before you get pregnant can have a lifelong impact on you and your baby.
Remember that you shouldn’t overdo it. You will need a workout that’s fun and that motivates you. It also needs to work with your schedule.
